I always need to take good care of my hair because I colour it quite often and I use a lot of heating tools and products daily. To keep my hair healthy I first of all only wash my hair every 5th or 6th day and I use hair mask or conditioner every 2nd time. I always make my own hair masks and today I will share my homemade banana hair mask. I love this hair mask for its amazing moisturizing properties and that is exactly what your hair needs if you are using heating tools daily like me. The good thing about this mask is that bananas are available all year around so it is easy to make, compared to the strawberry mask. This mask is very easy and you only need four ingredients.

Keeping your hair healthy with bananas

Why use bananas? They are super rich in vitamins, potassium, antioxidants and natural oils. Potassium heals dry and damaged hair and vitamin A strengthens hair follicles and nourishes dry hair. Bananas also contain vitamin E and C, where vitamin C regulates hair oil and vitamin E promotes healthy scalp and hair. But what does the moisture boost exactly do to your hair? The moisturizing will strengthen your hair to prevent breakage and here I am talking about all the split ends that is the first sign of damaged hair. The moisturizing will maintain your natural hair elasticity and make your hair bouncy and healthy. What you need:

  • 2 overripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  1. Blend the bananas. It is very important that you blend it until there are absolutely no chunks or banana pieces left. If you don’t blend it until your smoothie is very fine, you will have a hard time picking out banana pieces from your hair after rinsing the mixture out.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the mixture and blend again.
  3. Add the mixture to your hair and scalp and give your hair at least 10 minutes to absorb the mixture.
  4. Rinse well with warm water

I will keep you updated with many more homemade moisturizing and easy hair masks so stay tuned. Have fun and keep your hair healthy guys!
